World Invocation Day 2008
New Zealand Vigil for the Festival of Goodwill
12am Wednesday 18th June and finishing at 3.45am Thursday June 19th, 2008
World Invocation Day is a day on which the Great Invocation is used by groups and individuals of all faiths around the world. It is a united human invocation for love, light and spiritual direction and has been observed annually since 1952.
Further information on World Invocation Day is available on the Lucis Trust site.
An Inter-Group Activity
On June 19th 2008, starting at midnight people throughout the world will use the Great Invocation to focus the call from the depths of the human soul for light to illumine our minds, for love to fill our hearts and for the spiritual will to guide our way forward.
For the ninth year running, the Triangle Centre is again co-ordinating a vigil during which the Great Invocation will be sounded across the country. This will be a nation-wide co-operative effort with individuals and/or groups taking responsibility for a period of time in the 24 hours. During the chosen 'slot' of time that individual or group will use the Great Invocation at least once each quarter hour. For example, if a group or individual takes responsibility for a 45 minute slot, (say 10.00 - 10.45 am) they will use the Great Invocation a minimum of 4 times (10; 10.15; 10.30; 10.45).
"The New Zealand vigil is associated with a Vigil for the Americas co-ordinated by Intuition in Service.
